Legoland announced plans today to build a $12 million Legoland Discovery Center in Atlantia, Georgia, scheduled to debut in Spring 2012. The Discover Center would be located at the Phipps Plaza, one of the south east’s premier shopping destinations.
The new attraction will offer a fun and highly interactive and educational experience for familes in increments of two and three hours. It would be ideal for familes with children ages 3-10. The Discovery Center will provide a range of interactive play areas, including a 4D cinema, Lego Master Model builder, Lego rider, and party rooms for celebrations. Like the Legoland opening in Florida later this year, it will also have Miniland’s that reflect iconic buildings and the skyline of each location represented.
Construction is expected to begin sometime in July. Plans and designs are already being drawn up for the center, which is scheduled to open on March 2012. Models will be produced around the world and shipped in during the construction period.
