Disney has been a very busy place in the past few weeks. This week in particular there is a the groundbreaking for a new Disney park, new Disney Cruise Destinations, and more happening. So let’s take a look at the latest in Disney news this week.
Tom Skaggs and Bob Iger are in hand right now for the official groundbreaking of the Shanghai Disney Resort in China. The resort will be open in about five years and will be around 963 acres. The resort is expected to cost about $3.7 billion dollars and will feature Disney favorites as well as new attractions.
Meanwhile, in a Galaxy far far away…..When Star Tours 2 opens there will around 50 different adventures that guests could possibly go on. The official Disney Blog released a list of all the destinations including, Naboo, Geonesis and Hoth.
Closer to home Disney Cruise lines have announced that they will be offering three new home ports, New York, Galveston Texas and Seattle WA. The new ports will be launching points for all new cruises to places like Mexico, Alaska and Nova Scotia. For more information visit the Disney Cruise line website.
And finally for the 40th anniversary of the Walt Disney World Resort, there will be a special event for Passholders which will give chances to purchase limited edition pins, and Vinylmations. The storyline will revolve around an all new “Preview Center” for the “Florida Project”.
