Last week the world was asking “What is Pottermore?”
Through the week we were told what It’s not. It’s not going to be an addition to the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. It’s not going to be a new series of books, and it will not be a big encyclopedia of the boy wizards world.
In an announcement today Harry Potter author J.K. Rowling revealed the plans for Pottermore.
“An online reading experience unlike any other” Rowling said in her YouTube announcement. “It’s the same story with a few crucial differences. The most important, You.”
The online experience will allow fans to contribute their own content, and will also get new information from Rowling. She says that she will release new information about characters and the stories she’s been holding back for years. Also Pottermore.com will be the only place that people will be able to purchase digital versions of the Harry Potter series.
The site doesn’t open until October but there will be a few people selected to preview the site early. To register for email updates and to “follow the owls” visit pottermore.com.
