Erik’s Advent Calendar-T’was the Night Before!

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and it’s coming fast! A favorite of mine as a kid was the Advent Calendar. For those who are unfamiliar with the concept, Advent Calendars counted down the days until Christmas with fun little calendars. Usually hidden behind the numbers of the calendar were little toys or candy. Little gifts to have fun with before Christmas Day. With that in mind I present to you my calendar full of Christmas Joy. Every day we will knock another down the peg and share a bit of Christmas joy either in the form of a film, a theme park celebration or a special event or show. We will showcase something new and fun every day until Christmas! So get ready to unwrap and share some holiday cheer!

1 Day til Christmas-T’was the Night Before Christmas

Thank you for counting down Christmas with us. It’s only fitting that we end this year’s Advent Calendar with the classic poem, T’was the Night Before Christmas. It was originally known as “A Visit from Saint Nicholas”, but has evolved from the very first line in the story. The origin of the tale is up for debate. Some say it was a poem, others claim it as a children’s book. It’s been called one of the best known American verses, and it also has shaped the way we see our symbol of Christmas-Santa Claus. Before he was just St. Nicholas, but after the poem he’s forever known as Santa Claus, the big fat jolly guy with a big jiggly belly.

We hope you all have a very Merry and Safe Christmas. Thank you so much for reading along with us this holiday season.

Merry Christmas to all…and to all a good night.
