The World’s longest, fastest inverted coaster is one step closer to opening day, as Banshee at Kings Island made it’s official first run on Friday. The park tweeted out a picture of the coaster in mid-flight. The park also made an unexpected announcement, Banshee won’t be the only new offering from Kings Island. An all new show will call the park home for the 2014 season as well.
The official @KingsIslandPR Twitter account tweeted out several pictures of the coaster going through it’s circuit on Friday. The Switzerland-based Bolliger & Mabillard designed coaster, Banshee screamed through it’s 4,124-foot long track at a speed of 68 mph. The coaster will open with the park on April 18th.
In other park news, the coaster isn’t the only new attraction for the 2014 season. The park will also premiere a brand new show-Cirque Imagine.
The new show will feature acrobatics, dancing and music. It will not open until May 24th, but it will be featured prominently throughout the entire season.

If that wasn’t enough, the legendary monster from the woods-The Beast will celebrate it’s 35th season in operation at the park.
The Beast, opened in 1979, still stands as the world’s longest wooden roller coaster. It has withstood the test of time, and is one of the top coasters on many enthusiast lists.
