Ihu’s Breakaway Falls will be opening in just a little more than a month on May 9th. Since the construction tour of Ihu’s Breakaway Falls back in February, Aquatica has come so far on getting everything ready for guests on opening day. In fact, during the construction tour just over a month ago, Aquatica had just started pouring supports for the attraction.
Today, SeaWorld Orlando announced that they topped of Ihu’s Breakaway Falls by installing the roof that will cover the platform at the top of the stairs where guests will face each other and their fears. Ihu’s Breakaway Falls is now just over 105′ tall now that the signature Aquatica roofing has been installed.

Fun fact: The roof was installed very early this morning. The roof is 1,000 square feet and weighs more than 53,000 pounds! It took a 550-ton crane to install the roof on Ihu’s Breakaway Falls.
Here’s the finished product:
Ihu’s Breakaway Falls will have a total of four slides, but only three “breakaway boxes” that will drop guests straight into the slide. Guests who do not want to experience the breakaway boxes will have the option to still ride Ihu’s Breakaway Falls by riding the purple slide.
The height requirement for Ihu’s Breakaway Falls is only 48″, making it a slide that younger kids can still enjoy with their parents or their friends.
Aquatica still has work left to do on Ihu’s Breakaway Falls before it will be ready for guests on May 9th, so stay tuned for more updates by following along with us on Facebook and Twitter.
