Over the weekend, GeekyCon took over the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. It was a weekend full of celebrity guests, panels, fun and…well, geeky love. Jurassic World is currently the third biggest movie of all time. It has raked in over $1.5 billion dollars at the box office, and has dominated everything in it’s path. We got the chance to chat with one of the movie’s stars about Jurassic Park, horror and just having fun.
Ty Simpkins may be just 14 years old, but he’s starred in some of the biggest films in recent history. From Iron Man 3, to the Insidious franchise, and now Jurassic World, Ty has managed to make a huge impression in the film industry.
We had the brief chance to chat with him at GeekyCon, and found out that to get away from everything, Ty loves to escape to theme parks, and ironically love Jurassic Park at Universal Orlando.

Jurassic Park is definitely a favorite at Universal’s Islands of Adventure, and Ty loves both versions, however it’s the Orlando version of that takes the cake, simply because it’s more immersive.
With Insidious making an appearance at this year’s Halloween Horror Nights, and being a house already in Hollywood, we had to ask what he thought of it. Not really a fan. It seems the star of the creepy films has had enough creepy to last him a while, and would rather not walk into the living experience that he helped bring to the big screen. Can’t say we blame him.
