On September 16th, Epcot at Walt Disney World will be celebrating Las Fiestas Patrias (Patriotic Holidays). The celebration will celebrate the Mexican Independence, and will include huge activities for the whole family. It’s a great way for Mexican families to celebrate their heritage, and for others to learn about something that is often not celebrated or understood, in a very fun and unique way.
The Plaza de los Amigos in World Showcase will be decorated for the festive occasion, and will include huge celebrations inside the Mexico Pavilion. The celebration will include a scavenger hunt, a bean bag toss game, and more. The celebration will also include an activity sheet for families that will quiz them on the different locations and items in Mexico, the answers to which will be in Mexico Pavilion.
Families will also receive brochures telling about the importance of the holiday. Of course you can wrap it all up with a cruise on the Gran Fiesta Tour Starring The Three Caballeros.
