Finding Dory has found an amazing lot of friends at the box office over the past two weekends. Not only has she been number one for the past two weeks, it looks like she could take the number one spot over the busy 4th of July weekend as well. But what happens after the movie? You want more fun, naturally, so what do you do? Sure, you could watch Finding Nemo for the 30 billionth time…or you can ride it.
Epcot at Walt Disney World is home to The Seas with Nemo and Friends. More importantly it’s home to Finding Nemo: The Ride. The ride isn’t new, in fact it opened quite a few years ago, when the first movie came out, but it definitely takes the movie to a whole new level.
Video-Go on a search under the sea for Nemo!
The ride itself is a classic Disney dark ride. It takes projections and physical pieces, and mixes them for a fun journey as Nemo is “lost” again. We see all of the classic characters from the first film, and get a look at the characters mixing in with real life sea creatures as we glide past aquariums.
The ride starts as we walk into the ocean, and under the waves. It ends by emptying us out in the huge Seas pavilion. The Seas with Nemo and Friends includes a ton of aquariums with a variety of marine life, including sharks, dolphins and manatees. There are exhibits and play areas, and of course Turtle Talk with Crush, Dory and a ton of other characters that happen to swim by. It’s a great way to learn more about the amazing sea animals that were inspired Finding Dory.
