On Friday, Walt Disney World Resort introduced the new Florida Resident Theme Park Select Pass as well as add-ons for 2 existing annual pass tiers.
The new pass is another option for residents in Florida who want access to at least one theme park during most times of the year. The Florida Resident Theme Park Select Pass will include at least 325 days of access at select theme parks and at least 175 days of access to all four theme parks throughout the year, and is priced at $439.
We have obtained exclusively, the block out dates for the new Florida Resident Theme Park Select Pass, and for the pricing that Disney is offering, it’s less bang for your buck. Magic Kingdom will be blocked out on July 9-31; August 1-11, 18, 25; September 1, 8, 15, 22, 29; October 6, 13, 20, 27; November 3, 10, 17-24 ; December 1, 8, 15, 20-31; January1-5, 12, 19, 26; February 2, 9, 16, 23; March 2, 9, 16, 23, 30; April 6, 13-27; May 4, 11, 18, 25; and the entire months of June and July. Epcot’s block out dates are: August 31; September 1-2, 7-9, 14-16, 21-23, 28-30; October 5-7, 12-14, 19-21, 26-28; November 1-4, 9-11; December 20-31; January 1-3, 9-13; February 21-24; April 4-7, 13-26 Disney’s Hollywood Studios’ block out dates are: July 9-31; August 1-9; September 1-3; December 20-31; January 1-3, 19-21; February 16-18; April 13-26; May 25-27; June 3-30; and the entire month of July. Disney’s Animal Kingdom block out dates are: July 9-31; August 1-9; December 20-31; January 1-3; April 13-26; June 3-30; and the entire month of July.
Guests who purchase the new pass will have more overall block out dates at separate parks than the equally priced Silver tier. The Magic Kingdom will have from the time of launch to the end of July 2019 will have a total of 164 days blocked out, Epcot will have a total of 63 blocked out days, Hollywood Studios will have 130 blocked out days and Animal Kingdom will have 118 days blocked out. Guests will still have the option to purchase the silver tier annual pass at the same exact pricing of the Theme Park Select Pass and will only have 129 blocked days. Hollywood Studios blocked out dates are expected to rise once Star Wars Land opens in Fall of 2019.
In addition to the new pass, Disney is also introducing add-ons for the Florida Resident Disney Weekday Select, Theme Park Select and Florida Resident Disney Silver Passholders. Priced at $89, that gives access to Magic Kingdom, Epcot and Disney’s Animal Kingdom through August 9 2018 which are currently blocked out for all passed below the Gold Tier annual pass.
Both the new Florida Resident Theme Park Select Pass and the add-on will be available for purchase on Sunday July 9th 2018.
