Universal Orlando announces dates for Halloween Horror Nights 29

It’s never too early to start the panic. The official Universal Orlando website already has the first dates listed for Halloween Horror Nights, and the fear is coming earlier than ever.

HHN 29 kicks off on September 6th, a full week earlier than HHN 28. Usually the first weekend of September is reserved for Rock The Universe. However, in 2019 Rock the Universe moves to the dates usually reserved for Celebration of Harry Potter, which is not returning to Universal Orlando for 2019.

This is the earliest date for HHN yet, and it will be interesting to see how things roll out for HHN 29.

HHN 28 had the biggest year of the events history, and saw a total of ten houses and five scare zones. It also saw the record breaking maze, Stranger Things.

It’s a safe bet that we can expect to see Stranger Things 2 happening in 2019, especially with Stranger Things 3 dropping on Netflix in the summer. It’s going to be a hot ticket once again.

What else can we expect to see? We have a few ideas and have heard some rumors, but we’ll hold onto those for another day…soon.

Special thanks to Sunshine Frights for the heads up.

What are you hoping comes to HHN 29?

Update

Universal has since removed the information from the page, which tells us they weren’t quite ready for that cat to be out of the bag. However, a look at hotel prices for the weekend shows s pretty good spike in rates than the weeks before it. Keep in mind that the weekend before September 6th is Labor Day weekend. Also keep in mind that this year, Disney started Halloween on August 17th.

We’ll have to wait and see if the full announcement will keep the dates where they are, or if Universal will push things back a little.

Update

Universal officially confirmed it on the Halloween Horror Nights website that, indeed, HHN 29 will kick off for more nights than ever on September 6th. It’s not the earliest Halloween event in Orlando, but it definitely is one of the earliest nationwide.
