Universal Studios Japan is one of those amazingly wonderful places where things are just completely different. While the park does have a Wizarding World of Harry Potter, they tend to get different celebrations and have a different look at the way holidays are done throughout the rest of the world. While the country hasn’t celebrated Halloween for as long as the rest of the world, it has definitely embraced it, and there’s no place more apparent than at their theme parks.
Universal Studios Japan has two amazing Halloween celebrations, with of course the very scary, and always gory Halloween Horror Nights. But during the day, they bring out the trick or treaters and all the fun decorations. This year, the park has decorated the Wizarding World of Harry Potter for the occasion.
From creepy spiders, to custom decorations, the Village of Hogsmeade has gone all out to decorate the shops and windows around the village. Each shop has a uniquely Harry Potter decoration, and seems directly lifted from the pages of the Harry Potter stories.
During the day, guests can peruse the shops, and see the different decorations all while they go on the hunt for candy. It’s definitely a cool new addition to the park, and one that I hope we get state side soon!
