Deep beneath the decaying walls of Frankenstein Manor, in the darkest corners where no living soul dares to tread, a legacy is being reborn. Dr. Victoria Frankenstein, the brilliant yet enigmatic great-great-granddaughter of Henry Frankenstein, has taken up the mantle of her infamous ancestor. With a vision to restore the family name, she has devoted her life to one singular goal: to master what her predecessors could not—to control the monsters.
Monsters Unchained is located inside the Dark Universe, which is in the Epic Universe theme park within Universal Studios Orlando Resort.

The Manor’s architecture itself is said to be based on the real-life Château Miranda (pictured below), a 19th-century neo-Gothic castle in Wallonia, Belgium.
Designed in 1866 by English architect Edward Milner for the Liedekerke-De Beaufort family, the château was meant to replace their former residence, Vêves Castle, abandoned during the French Revolution. Milner passed away in 1884 before its completion, and the castle was finished in 1907 with the construction of its clock tower.
The castle was demolished between October 2016 and October 2017 as it was becoming one of the most-explored abandoned buildings in the World.

Every night, as the moon rises over the manor, Victoria retreats into her hidden laboratory, an underground lair teeming with the hum of arcane machinery and the flicker of electrical currents that bring life to the lifeless. Here, she has gathered the most fearsome creatures of legend—Dracula, the Wolf Man, the Mummy, the Creature from the Black Lagoon, and more. Using revolutionary technology and scientific ingenuity, she believes she has finally succeeded in harnessing their raw power.

With the press of a button, Victoria initiates her demonstration, confident that she will prove her dominance over these timeless beings. But something is terribly wrong. The air grows thick with an unnatural chill. From the shadows, Dracula watches, his crimson eyes burning with cunning fury. He has not spent centuries lurking in darkness to be subjugated. With a voice that chills the soul, he calls out to his imprisoned brethren. One by one, the creatures awaken from their forced slumber, their rage unchained.

A violent revolt erupts within the manor. The laboratory shakes as monsters break free, their howls and roars echoing through the cavernous halls. Victoria scrambles to regain control, but the chaos is absolute. The animatronic figures in this nightmare feel unnervingly real—their movements swift, their power overwhelming. You can hear their breath, feel the heat of their presence, and sense the looming dread as they close in.
With no way out, guests are thrust into the heart of the mayhem, their survival hinging on sheer instinct and luck. They must navigate the crumbling corridors of Frankenstein Manor, dodging the claws of the Wolf Man, the grasp of the Mummy, and the terror of the Creature from the Black Lagoon. Each turn brings new horrors, each moment pulses with relentless intensity.

Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment is unlike anything the world has seen before. The attraction’s cutting-edge technology pushes the boundaries of fear, bringing these classic monsters to life with unprecedented realism. The figures move faster, strike harder, and feel more alive than any creation before them. You will see them, hear them, and even feel their breath as they close in around you. The experience is so visceral, so powerful, that only the bravest will emerge unscathed.
Be warned: once you step inside, there is no turning back. The monsters are unchained, and they are coming for you.
