Running through the streets of Cedar Point on a winter’s day is just about every coaster nerds dream! This Sunday you can join more than 1,500 runners in the first ever Santa Hustle at Cedar Point. The Santa Hustle will be brand new to Cedar Point, but the Hustle has been going on in various cities in the Midwest since 2009 when hundreds of Santa’s first ran through the streets of Chicago. Since 2009 it has become the fastest growing race in the country with dozens of cities participating every year. This year Cedar Point gives runners a chance to see the park like they rarely ever do.
There will be two races, a half marathon and a 5k, both of which will start and end at the Castaway Bay indoor waterpark and resort. To get in the spirit all runners will receive a free Santa hat, beard and custom dri-fit Santa shirt. The half marathon starts at 9a.m. and features a scenic tour of the Cedar Point Peninsula, followed by a 3.1-mile race at 9:30 along the Cedar Point Causeway.
To get even further into the spirit of Christmas, there will be drop boxes along the race routes for Toys for Tots, so that you can complete that Santa feeling. There will also be plenty of great Christmas decorations, cookies and drinks along the way as well as music for that festive spirit. Afterwards all racers are invited to an after party to help keep the Christmas spirit going, and wind down after a great long run.
