The internet has revolutionized the Theme Park industry, not only in the amount of exposure that parks give themselves, but also in the amount of websites that have popped up. On this week’s poll we honor all of those websites that bring you the latest and greatest in theme park news, rumors and off the record fun. From trip reports, fansites, videos, podcasts, to good old fashioned news and rumors, these are the sites that bring the fun of theme parks from the midway, all the way home with you, whether it’s in the form of tips, news, rumors or just geeking out.
There are a great number of theme park sites out there, all of which bring something different to the table. No matter what kind of content you’re looking for regarding the amusement industry, one of these websites are most likely to have just what you need. Do you like news and rumors? Perhaps you need a great resource for planning your theme park trip. Maybe you just want to geek out? Whatever you’re looking for, these are the websites that have it!
While theme parks themselves have used the internet to help out would be guests plan and buy tickets, it’s the people who are truly passionate about the theme park and amusement industry that have helped those theme parks grow and strive. With that in mind, there are no official theme park websites nominated. These websites are created and run by those individuals that have a true passion to create news sites, podcasts, or even fansites.
But which one is the best of the best?
[polldaddy poll=7569355]
While we would love to nominate every single website, unfortunately, there are just way too many to include. The list above represents the websites that best match our criteria for Theme Park Website of the Year.
Our criteria for the nominees include, but are not limited to the following:
- On the web for more than a year
- The site must have regular updates. At least one per week, and several in the past three months
- Must consist of original content. Copy and pasting press releases, or content from other websites does not qualify as original content.
- Must have a social media presence (i.e. Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, etc.)
We’ve always broke the best website category into two parts. After reading your input and looking at the content of many websites, we decided to combine both the Fansite and News Site polls to just one poll for the best theme park website period. Over the past three years News and Rumor Juggernaut Screamscape has run away with the voting in the previous category of Best News Site of the Year. MiceChat took home the gold for Best Fansite.
Will Screamscape take home the gold, or will the Uber Disney Fansite MiceChat take it home? It all depends on you! Vote for your favorite, and spread the word! You can vote once a day from now until the close of the poll next Sunday.
