Trademark filed for Fast and Furious: Supercharged at Universal Studios Hollywood

According to Inside Universal, Universal Studios Hollywood has filed a trademark application for an all new ride/attraction. Fast and Furious: Supercharged is now on file with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office. Could this be the name of an all new ride, or could we be looking at the new addition to the Studio Tour that is predicted to open next year?

Earlier this year we reported on the possibility of 2015 being a one-two punch on new attractions at Universal Studios Hollywood (click here). The park is expected to make a huge announcement at the end of this year about the new attraction.

The new filing with the patent office, however, could already give us the name.

It’s believed, though unconfirmed, that the new attraction will be taking place of the Mummy’s Tomb on the Studio Tour. The Mummy’s Tomb was closed and recently torn down, though the former site has been home to a flurry of construction activity – solidifying the rumors that this will be the new attraction location. The attraction could utilize 3D technology in an amped way, with new animatronics, and be similar to Kong 360:3D in that guests enter an enclosed area and experience what it’s like to ride along on a street race.
