Legoland Florida is about to become a huge resort, with the opening of the Legoland Florida Hotel. The park is also getting a huge new area, with the Lego Friends Heartlake City. The new area will take characters from the popular Lego Friends line and bring them to life in a place all their own. On Tuesday, St. Patrick’s Day, Girl Scouts were on hand to help break ground on the new area, which should be open later this summer.
The all new area will feature a ride themed to horse back riding, as well as a new interactive show called “Friends to the Rescue” as well as Stephanie’s News Room and shops inside Heartlake Mall.
Area Girl Scouts were on hand to help with the groundbreaking, as they share the love of adventure that Lego Friends represent.
“Our goal is to support girls as they build confidence and develop leadership skills. Teaming up with LEGOLAND Florida Resort was a great opportunity for these young ladies to proudly represent our organization,” said Jimmy Barringer, Director of Marketing for Girl Scouts of West Central Florida.
“We invited the Girl Scouts to help us with this event because we believe they can relate to the LEGO Friends love of adventures, solving problems and having fun,” said Director of Marketing for LEGOLAND Florida Resort Rex Jackson.
The all new land will be open later this summer, and will include a disk-o type thrill ride, the interactive show, build stations and many more surprises.
First up for the park is the all new Legoland Florida Hotel. That is scheduled to open May 15th, and reservations are already being accepted.
