Prometheus was the set up of a much larger world, which showed us where the Aliens from the Alien series came from. Unfortunately, it had more questions than answers. While we did get to see the Space Jockey’s, the door was left wide open. Now comes the sequel to that film, Alien: Covenant. We have the first full trailer for the film, and it looks to be a lot more straight forward.
It looks flat out amazing, and seems like a return to roots for the Alien franchise. It stars Danny McBride, Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace (returning as Elizabeth Shaw), James Franco, Billy Cruddup and many others. The only thing I hope is that it doesn’t ignore Prometheus, and builds on that storyline, rather than give a straight up Alien sequel.
The film opens in theaters on May 19th.
