It’s been a rumor for the better part of a year now, but it several sites are now calling it confirmed. Tron is coming to the Magic Kingdom.
The Tron Light Cycle Coaster has been rumored for several other Disney parks since it opened last year at Shanghai Disneyland, with the most prominent rumor being at Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. According to several sites and sources, the coaster will be coming to Magic Kingdom in time for the 50th anniversary.

The new coaster is rumored to take over the space now occupied by the Tomorrowland Speedway, a staple of the park since opening.
WDWNT originated the rumor, and called it confirmed, but is it?
Disney has yet to say one way or another if it’s coming to the park, and they are (after all) the final say so in the matter. If the attraction is indeed coming, that means that the Tomorrowland Speedway will have to close by late 2018 in order to get the attraction open in time.
However, there’s another matter to think about. Space Mountain. Tomorrowland already has Space Mountain as a centerpiece of the land. It does seem impractical to have two major coasters within feet of each other, but stranger things have happened. The coaster would seem a better and more likely fit for Epcot, which is getting a massive overhaul, which has been confirmed.
With D23 happening this weekend, and the parks and resorts panel happening on Saturday, if Tron is happening, it seems likely that D23 will be the place it will be announced. Or not.
The biggest thing to remember is that Disney is going to be making huge announcements this weekend, and until they are confirmed, it’s just a rumor, so don’t go planning your trips around a Tron Coaster just yet.
