SeaWorld San Diego is expanding their food and drink offerings during the summer, which includes an all-new themed area called ‘The Waterfront!’ Plus, the park is bringing back its iconic fireworks spectacular on specific dates for the rest of the summer.
‘The Waterfront’ originally debuted at SeaWorld Orlando many years ago and features restaurants, gift shops, and a theater. San Diego’s Waterfront, though, will focus on beverages and family entertainment. The new area will feature a beer garden right on Mission Bay. Beer, wine, frozen drinks, and snacks will be served, and a new stage will host artists from all around Southern California. The area will have a relaxed SoCal feel with plenty of chairs, relaxing music, and a great view. There will also be free games for the whole family.
‘The Waterfront’ officially opens next week on July 4th. It will be open daily from the 4th to the 7th, then on weekends through the rest of the summer. The area opens at 4 pm and closes at 7:30 pm.
The new area will be located in the back of the park by Tidal Twister and Cirque Stadium. The area itself was home to the Hawaiian Punch Village many years ago, and stood as the Bayside Cafe until it was torn down in the early 2000s due to old age. The area has sat off-limits until now.
For the rest of the summer, SeaWorld is bringing back its prized fireworks show. Fireworks will occur on Saturdays in July and August, plus the first weekend in September at 9:50 pm.
