The 18th annual Transworld Halloween & Attractions Show promises to be the biggest and best in the 5 years that it has been held in St. Louis, MO! Besides an AMAZING trade show floor, seminars, and demonstrations, attendees will have several opportunities to meet and network with other attraction owners, vendors, and celebrities from all over the world. There is so much to do in the 5 days of events that sometimes all of the opportunities become overwhelming. Metro Transit provides a convenient, cost-efficient way to travel around St. Louis.
- Travel by subway Train, Bus, or Call-A-Ride. Single ride tickets, day passes, and weekly passes are all available.
- You can purchase a “Metro System” day pass for &7.50 OR a week pass for $25.00 that is valid for all day use on BOTH BUS AND TRAIN service.
The cheapest way to get from the airport to the convention center is the METRO LINK (subway train). Only $2.25 per adult. The airport Metro Link station is located on the upper level of the airport outside of exit door / elevator at LEVEL MT2. Get off at the Convention Center stop for the closest to Ren Grand, or use the map below to determine the closest for your destination.

The following are brief descriptions of what to expect at the events happening at the HAA Show from March 6-10:
Early arrivals can attend Wednesday‘s Speed Seminars on March 6th, an all-day marathon of 30-minute presentations from industry experts that cut right to the heart of each topic for intensive study from 9am-5:30pm. The 8.5 hours of high-speed information costs $130 and includes lunch during the busy day. At 8pm.
Ed and Jordu from the Travel Channel’s hit show about Distortions Unlimited “MAKING MONSTERS” will host a special Making Monsters Bloopers and Behind-the-Scenes Reel followed by a Q & A session. (The event takes place in the convention center).
Thursday kicks off at 7:45am with a Newcomer Orientation Breakfast for $10 per person in the convention center.
Early Bird Seminars begin all four days of the HAA Show from 8-9am, featuring haunting hosts like Dorothy Creamer, Rich Hanf, Bobbie Weiner and Kevin Alvey. These seminars are free to all show attendees. Thursday’s seminar is titled “Bridging the Revenue Gap Between Haunts and Retail.”
The trade show floor opens promptly at 9:30am each day. The show floor consists of vendor booths, buyers, the dark zone, makeup demos, a food court, and an Interactive haunted house.
Two parties will fill your Thursday evening: the free Opening Night Party in the Ramada Ballroom starting at 5:30pm and the 5th annual Insane Shane TransWorld Kick Off Party at the Renaissance Grand from 7:30pm-1:30am.
The Insane Shane party boasts $40,000 in cash and prize giveaways, a costume contest, guest celebrity appearances, and all you can eat food and drinks. Tickets are $99 and can be purchased at www.insaneshaneparty.com.
The Darkness is offering a lights-on/no fog behind-the-scenes tour of their haunt and as a bonus, a lights-on/no fog tour at Lemp Brewery underground haunted attraction. You can record video and take pictures of all their highly-detailed sets. Drinks and light snacks will be provided. Tickets are limited to 300 guests and available at www.thedarkness.com for $100 per person. (located 1.7 miles from America’s Center, 5min drive)
HAA is back at it Friday morning with the early bird seminar about getting started in the haunt industry. There will be design and sculpting demos by Jordu Schell on the trade show floor all day as well as the interactive haunt and make up demos.
Celebrities and movie stars will be on the show floor and at select events for photo-ops throughout the week.
To fill your Friday evening, the bustling HAA Live Auction will begin at 5:30pm, and TW’s popular City Museum Party ($35) will begin at 7:30pm. If you have never been to City Museum, you won’t want to miss this event! City Museum Party Tickets must be purchased pre-show. (located approx 8 blocks from America’s Center. 3min drive/long walk).
Friday evening haunt tours include Mr. Bills Thrills or The Darkness. Mr. Bills Thrills – Haunted Barn & Trail of Terror is $55.00 per person and includes Motor Coach transportation, a haunt tour, dinner, and prop auction from 7pm – Midnight. The bus will depart the Convention Center at 5:30pm. Tickets are available at www.mrbillsthrills.net. Those that purchase an admission ticket will receive a bid card for the silent prop auction. If you wish to bid on an item, fill out the card and turn it into the ticket booth. Highest bidder will be notified on Sunday. Buses will leave the convention center at 5:30pm and return at midnight. Individuals wanting to attend may also drive to Mr. Bills Thrills and pay onsite with Cash ($20). Tickets are extremely limited for the bus tour as there is only 1 bus available per night. Mr. Bills thrills is closing it’s doors forever after the show, so this is the last time tours will ever be available. (located approx 1hr from America’s Center).
Friday evening also plays host to The Darkness private behind-the-scenes tour with the owners and designers from 7-10pm. This tour is different from the Thursday night tour since it offers a private tour of the actors’ room, workshop, and ticket booth. Artists, foam carvers, animators, and carpenters will all be on hand to answer questions for a Q&A of daily operations. Refreshments will be available in the Monster Museum following the tour. Tickets are $150 and are available at www.thedarkness.com/tour_details.htm (1.7 miles from America’s Center, 5min drive) This tour is SOLD OUT!
Saturday starting at 8am is the early-bird seminar with the Bloody Mary crew on how to make a living statue. The interactive haunted house scenes will be auctioned off at 1pm on the trade show floor. If you haven’t toured the interactive haunted house yet, make sure you do so before 1pm!
From 5-7:30pm the HAA Oscares Awards Banquet takes place, which is free to all HAA members and vendors in the industry. (The event will be held in the convention center)
The Mr. Bills Thrills tour bus will depart at 5:30 from the Convention Center. (Ticket includes transportation, haunt tour, prop auction bidding, and dinner for $55 per person.) Guests may also drive to the event and only pay the $20 admission price. (located approx 1hr from America’s Center).
Haunters “Overtake” Hooters. Enjoy dinner at Hooters as hundreds of haunters gather for a dinner social from 6:30-9:30pm. (located at 100 N 7th St, St Louis, MO 63101). 6 blocks from America’s Center. Short walk away.
At 7:30pm-2am The Pale Night Productions crew is hosting a St. Louis Zombie Party at the Lemp Industrial Park for only $10! The party features a costume contest with prizes, an open bar, and live DJ’s. A food truck will be on site provided by Kayas Kitchen. At 8:30pm, the FIRST ever Price is Fright will begin! Sponsored by Netherworld Haunted House and Zombie Army Productions, the Price is Fright is a haunt game show where contestants will team up to test their knowledge about the haunt industry and various trade show floor products (so take notes at those vendor booths!) There will be 5 rounds of the “The Price is Fright”, intermingled with D.J. sets, free food, a Haunted House T-Shirt Contest, T-Shirt giveaway, the Vanna Frite Contest, and an opportunity to bond with friends in the Haunt Industry.
