Busch Gardens Tampa’s Howl O Scream gets dates and a first house announcement

Howl O Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa is wasting no time at all, and going for the jugular. The Halloween scream fest is taking shape, with the announcement of all the event dates, as well as the first returning house. It should be no surprise that the park is bringing back one of the biggest hits of last year.

Motel Hell is coming back to Howl O Scream at Busch Gardens Tampa. If you’re curious to what fiendish delights you’re in for, check out our walkthrough video!

Busch Gardens has also released the full schedule for this year’s event, which will begin on September 22nd for Freaky Preview.

There’s still plenty more coming in the next few weeks, but we’re going to bet that we’ll see all the returning houses first.

Which houses can we expect to return? While we’re just guessing, and these are just rumors at this point, there’s a good chance that The Black Spot will return. The pirate themed curse house was a lot of fun, and hugely inventive. We’ll be honestly surprised if Zombie Containment Unit does not come back, because the idea of an interactive shooter is always a huge draw. Circus of Superstition is pretty long in the tooth, but it’s become something of a classic at this point. It could be out, in fact it will be a huge surprise if it’s not. Another house that could be out is DeathWater Bayou. That house, while immensely fun, has been around way too long. Zombie Mortuary just underwent a huge redo last year, so it’s pretty much a shoe-in for a return again this year.

As for what we think will happen? Cobra’s Curse is built like a HOS house…it would be really amazing to put actors in the line, and in the hiding spaces to amp up the thrills of the ride. With the spaces above, and the snakes all around, it wouldn’t take much to turn the queue into another mini-house.

Roaming hordes have been a big hit for the park, where they have scare zones set up, but hordes of characters roaming in and out of the zone.

It’s also been a while since we’ve seen anything with Vampires or Werewolves at the event, it’s about time for a new house to feature the two.

Finally, it’s been a rumor for many years…but this year it could finally happen.

Tigers. Yes, tigers.

What about them? Well, the rumor is that Busch Gardens Tampa is going to incorporate their tigers into an extra upgraded event. At the end of the event, the tigers will be released into the park, and your job is to get out. Call it the ultimate scare, as you try to outwit, outrun and survive. Will you be able to make it? This has been rumored for several years now (because we completely make it up), but it seems like the park will finally do it (not the tigers…they’d never do that) and make this the year that they pit man vs. beast (if by beast, you mean the huge hot dogs in Pantopia). Seriously! (Not seriously) This will finally happen at Howl O Scream, and they are sure to confirm it this Friday (seriously…don’t believe anything about this…it’s a joke). Would we make this stuff up? (Yes, we’ve been making up this rumor for about eight years now).
