Jay Cutler and theme park nerds have more in common than one might think. Jay Cutler shares a home with one of the most beloved theme parks in recent memory, Holiday World. On Saturday May 14th, the Chicago Bears Quarterback will return home to Santa Claus Indiana to be the Grand Marshal of the sixth annual “Holiday World Walk to Cure Diabetes”.
Over the past five years, the “Holiday World Walk to Cure Diabetes” has raised nearly $1.5 million for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) through the donation of tickets to walkers who’ve raised funds for the organization. This year’s goal is to raise an additional $376,000 for JDRF. Visit the JDRF.org website for more information and to sign up for the walk.
Jay Cutler himself was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes when he was just 21. He will lead an estimated 2,000 people in the walk, all of whom will honor the memory of the late Holiday World president, Will Koch who passed away June of last year due to diabetes related issues.
The star quarterback will also be headlining a charity event at Santa’s Lodge later that evening to raise money for his own charity, the Jay Cutler Foundation. The event will include a concert by Grammy Award winning artist David Nail. The Jay Cutler Foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of life for underprivileged children and those suffering from diabetes.
Holiday World opens for the season May 13th. For more information, including tickets visit the official Holiday World Website.
