Kings Islands released the names of two former employees of the park who will be inducted into the park’s Hall of Fame this coming weekend. This Saturday at 10:45 am, former employees Chuck Ingram and Ruth Voss will be inducted into the Hall of Fame in a ceremony held on International Street.
Ruth and Chuck were both chosen to be inducted by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee. After they are inducted, a total of nine employees will stand in the Hall of Fame. In 2010, Lewis Johnson and Rob Pottorf were inducted.
Chuck Ingram worked at Kings Island from 1978 to 1985. During the course of his employment, he worked in the merchandising department, the entertainment department, promotions, traffic, and operations. He served in tech-services, as promotions and operations director, director of traffic operations, and supervisor of roving entertainment. Ingram has spent the last two decades in radio in the city of Cincinnati.
Ruth Voss worked at Kings Island as the Public Relations Manager from 1974 until she retired in 1989. Voss is credited for naming “The Beast” roller coaster in 1979. During her years of service, she met and worked with Dick Van Dyke, Jonathan Winters, Dinah Shore, Evel Knievel, Joe Barbera and Bill Hanna for park projects and special events.
Kings Island is open Fridays (7:00am – 1:00am), Saturdays (11:00am – 1:00am) and Sundays (11:00am – 7:00pm) now through October 30, 2011.
