Hey there, hi there, ho there! What’s been happening in the Wonderful World of Disney? As always, it’s been a busy week with tons of first looks, big news and tons of happenings. Actually, there’s tons of Star Wars news, which is always a good thing.

Let’s kick with some huge Star Wars Weekends News. Disney has just announced that they will be doing Star Wars Character dining for the first time ever. Beginning on Star Wars Day (May the 4th), guests can either have breakfast at Sci-Fi Dine In Theater, or Dinner at Hollywood&Vine with some of their favorite Disney Star Wars Characters. You could get the chance to meet Ewok Chip & Dale, Jedi Mickey, Leia Minnie, Darth Goofy, and/or Stormtrooper Donald as you have dinner. Breakfast will get Stormtroopers, Jawa, Greedo, Boba Fett, and DARTH VADER!!! I wonder if he can drink Orange Juice in that mask…or if he has to…FORCE IT down.  Breakfast goes from 8 a.m. til noon and will cost $47.99 for Adults, and $29.99 for kids (3-9). Dinner starts at 4:15 p.m. and goes until park closing, and will be $55.99 for adults and $36.99 for kids (3-9). Guests will get a picture via digital download on a special PhotoPass card with the meal. This is available all week, not just during Star Wars Weekends, but theme park admission is required in order to experience character dining. Reservations are already filling up, so dial 407-WDW-DINE ((407) 939-5277 from 7am to 11pm Eastern Time to make your reservations ASAP.

One character that isn’t featured in Disney Dining is Luke Skywalker. If you’re looking to catch a glimpse of Skywalker, guests are in luck. Mark Hamill will be making his first ever Star Wars Weekend appearance, and will be appearing June 6-8, 2014. He will be part of the daily talk show, and the Star Wars Legends Motorcade. While this seems like it’s out of the blue, our sources tell us that this will also be the place where Mark Hamill is officially announced to play Luke Skywalker in Star Wars Episode 7. The Official Disney Parks Blog (click here) has released a picture of the “big drop” on the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train Coaster Ride Thing, and it’s a doozie! It will take you past a rushing waterfall and out of the mine. No date has been announced for the coaster’s opening date, but we are hearing around April 30th.

It’s a Small World is one of the most annoying songs of all time. Maybe that’s unfair, but sit in a ride for 8 minutes with the same song…or better yet, get stuck for two hours…oh dear lord! Still it’s a great song that has an even better message. Unity around the world. This year Disney is celebrating the 50th anniversary of the debut at The World’s Fair in 1964. Disney is celebrating by having a global Sing A Long on April 10th. More details.
