One month after its launch, it was announced last week that The Republic, an immersive theater experience was fully funded via crowd funding sites like Kickstarter and Indiegogo. The Republic, an immersive interactive performance experience will be the first of its kind in Downtown Orlando. Visitors will be given into a unique live experience with more than 25 different spaces which contains interactive elements and multiple endings.
Utilizing funds raised via Kickstarter and an earlier Indigogo campaign, The Republic immediately begins full construction of an 18,000 square-foot maze of elaborately designed spaces that players will explore when the experience opens near downtown Orlando in May 2015. This immersive theater will meet gaming in this performance theater. Much like interactive experiences such as Blackout in New York City, The Republic promises you that ” You will be watched. You will be deceived. You will be touched.”
Created by theme park attraction designer Sarah Elger, The Republic is being brought to life via the talents of artists, writers, musicians, designers, and performers each utilizing their skill sets to offer a completely unique live experience. “I’m extremely excited and thankful to have reached our Kickstarter goal,” said The Republic creator Sarah Elger. “The donations we received are a huge help, allowing us to make The Republic the best experience possible for all of our future guests to enjoy.”
According to their Kickstarter video, The Republic plans to open in May.
