Design for a “Castle in the Sky” attraction surfaces, and it’s just as beautiful as the film

Studio Ghibli’s Castle in the Sky is considered to be one of Hayao Miyazakis’ most beautiful animated masterpieces. The film tells the story of  Pazu, an engineer’s apprentice. He finds a young girl, Sheeta, floating down from the sky, wearing a glowing pendant. Together, they discover both are searching for a legendary floating castle, but along the way must face air pirates, government agents and more. It’s a great story, and brought to life by the masterful hand of Miyazaki.

Kotaku has a first look at the design from designer John Ramirez. The new ride seems to go along a track and features many of the moments from the film, including a giant robot. The ride is not in development anywhere, but along with the Totoro Ride that was revealed last month (also not in development), it could make for an entire theme park land, or potentially new park!

Tokyo Disneyland would be the perfect choice for the new land, but it could honestly go anywhere. Disney has had the rights for the US Distribution of Studio Ghibli films in the past.

What other amazing Miyazaki attractions would you like to see? Personally, we’d like to see a Porco Rosso flight simulator, or a KiKi’s Delivery Service Broom coaster.
