Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey No Longer 3D in Hollywood

Theme park fans in Southern California woke up to some surprising news as early guests were reporting the uber-popular Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey attraction is no longer operating with 3D. It seems that the footage had been replaced with the original animation used in the Orlando version.

We reached out to Universal for a statement and this is what they had to add.

We continually evaluate our theme park experiences. By enabling the guests to enjoy Forbidden Journey without 3D is one example of how were assessing various opportunities.

This news seems to be well received as the post converted 3D was cause for some cases of motion sickness and dizziness and was often criticized for taking away from the intricate live action scenes by forcing guests to wear dark 3D glasses.
