MegaCon 2017: Disney working on secret Princess Project

MegaCon 2017 wrapped up this past Sunday at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando. While many people were busy at Walt Disney World, waiting for Pandora: The World of Avatar, we happened to be waiting for our Princess to arrive…or should we say, three. We happened to catch the huge panel with three of the original actors who voiced Disney Princesses in the original animated classics.

Linda Larkin, who voiced Jasmine in Aladdin, Paige O’Hara who voiced Belle in the animated Beauty and the Beast, and Irene Bedard who voiced Pocahontas, all appeared on stage this past Saturday. They shared their experiences as Disney Princesses, and answered questions from fans.

One question got a very surprising answer, and a hint at something bigger coming from Disney, involving the Disney Princesses. All of them.

During the panel, a pre-school teacher asked how they felt about the new generation of Disney Princesses. Of course they all love them, and think that it makes them more relevant. Then, Linda Larkin dropped something unexpected.

“Disney does some cool things – you’re gonna see some really cool things in about a year with all the princesses.” says Larkin  (Paige O’hara adds “All together. First time”) “Yes, so We really have an opportunity to bring the present and the past together and it’s exciting”.

We have the question and response in the video below:

Yes, all Disney Princesses…together. Are we talking a film? A short? Parade? Attraction? WHAT!?!?

There are currently eleven Disney Princesses, 12 if you count Moana. So could we really see Snow White, Aurora, Cinderella, Ariel, Belle, Jasmine, Pocahontas, Mulan, Tiana, Rapunzel, Merida (yes, even though she’s Pixar, Disney officially coronated her as a Disney Princess), and Moana in one place together? And no…we did not forget Anna and Elsa. Elsa is now a Queen, and Anna was never named an official Disney Princess.

We have a sneaking suspicion that we will hear a little more about it come D23.

In the meantime, check out the ENTIRE Disney Princess Panel below!
