Universal Studios Japan is rolling out a brand new Super Nintendo World that will put guests right in the heart of their favorite Nintendo Games. A MarioKart ride is coming to the park, and it’s all aiming for a 2020 opening date.
We knew all that. However, we do have a great look at some of the construction, thanks to our friend YukenDoIt in Japan.
Construction is ramping up, as land is being cleared, and foundations are being built. The new land is going to be in a backstage area behind JAWS and the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. While it doesn’t look like much now, if it follows Universal’s tradition of immersive and interactive attractions, it’s going to be amazing.

There really is a lot happening at Universal Japan. I especially love the nighttime look, and the face that Dementors have returned to the Harry Potter castle show. It makes us extremely jealous with all the stuff that Universal Japan does that is really unique. However, just because it’s awesome there does not mean it will work here.
