Yesterday the first trailer for Sony’s Spider-Verse Venom hit, and today we get the teaser trailer.
Okay…not sure what to think here. Eddie Brock is the quintessential Venom host, but if they hadn’t had that logo at the end, I wouldn’t have guessed it was a Venom movie.
There is some black ooze here, but no Spider-Man and no Venom himself. The story is said to take place in two storylines, the Lethal Protector and Planet of the Symbiotes. Both take place pretty much without Spider-man and the setting of San Francisco is dead on. But how will they work a Venom movie without connecting at all to Spider-man? After all, the symbiote was first drawn to Spider-man because of his powers and abilities.
Still, color me curious. The film doesn’t hit until October and is said to be pushing for an R-rating.
