Rise of the Resistance gets opening dates at Disneyland and Walt Disney World!

Let’s hope this helps. Disney has just announced that the delayed attraction, the main attraction in Star Wars Galaxy’s Edge, finally us an opening date. Rise of the Resistance will shuttle guests into a battle between The First Order and The resistance this December!

Walt Disney’s Hollywood Studios will unveil Rise of the Resistance on December 5th. Then a month later, the team at Disneyland will roll out the new attraction on January 17th.

A new description as well as the above poster has been revealed:

Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance will blur the lines between fantasy and reality and will put guests in the middle of a climactic battle between the First Order and the Resistance. Guests will be recruited to join Rey and General Organa at a secret base. Along the way, they will be captured by a First Order Star Destroyer. With the help of some heroes of the Resistance, they break out and must escape the Star Destroyer, protect the secret base, and stay one step ahead of Kylo Ren.

Rise of the resistance is being billed as the utmost immersive Star Wars experience ever created. It could also be the missing piece of the puzzle that Disney needs to make Galaxy’s Edge whole. While the land has been met with glowing reviews by media, some critics have said that it just doesn’t wow them in the way they had hoped. Likewise, Disneyland has been experiencing some of the lowest summer wait times in park history.

Meanwhile, the line has pretty much already formed at Disney’s Hollywood Studios, as passholders and guests are planning to camp out to get into the new land when it opens.

All this is happening just as the last film featuring all of these characters, Rise of the Skywalker hits theaters closer to Christmas.
