Celestial Park: The Story, Heart, and Entryway of Epic Universe, Universal Orlando

From the moment you step through the gate of Epic Universe, you become a traveler of the cosmos, an explorer of the extraordinary, a dreamer destined to embark on an adventure beyond your wildest imagination.

The Chronos device is seen at the entrance to Epic, this is the start of your journey, a giant machine that powers all of Celestial Park.

Welcome to Celestial Park. Welcome to Epic Universe.

What is Celestial Park? Celestial Park is more than just an entrance; it is the soul of Epic Universe. A “world between worlds;” it’s the gateway to the grand stories that await beyond its portals—each leading to realms of magic, myth, and wonder. It’s the “Hub” of the theme park, and you’ll walk through it each time you travel from one land to the next.

At the core of Celestial Park stands the Chronos, an awe-inspiring machine that harnesses the energy of the universe. This immense cosmic mechanism powers the entire park, it aligns the Stars so that these portals open, allowing access to these other worlds. As guests step through the Emerald Gate and the Chronos, they feel the pulse of an ever-evolving universe—one shaped by the countless artists, musicians, explorers, and dreamers who have passed through for centuries, each leaving a trace of their own story behind.

“That’s what’s really at the emotional core of it: our desire to belong, to connect, to meet new people, to discover new places, to have experiences. [It’s] why they go through these portals.” -Steve Tatham, Executive Creative Director for Epic Universe.

Celestial Park is an expanse of lush gardens, shimmering fountains, and pathways designed to encourage exploration and connection. Unlike many traditional theme parks, Celestial Park has been carefully crafted to embrace nature rather than concrete, creating a space where guests can pause, breathe, and take in the beauty around them. Many European theme parks start as a garden or Fantasy forest, and Celestial park and Epic Universe pull from this idea.

By day, it is a radiant oasis filled with vibrant greenery, sparkling water features, and immersive sculptures that celebrate the wonders of the cosmos.
By night, the entire landscape shifts into a breathtaking spectacle of light and energy. Pathways glow with an ethereal luminescence, fountains dance to cosmic rhythms, and constellations come to life, immersing guests in an atmosphere that feels truly out of this world.

Within Celestial Park stand four grand portals—tall, obelisk-like structures. These are the passageways to four fully immersive worlds, each offering a unique adventure:

  • Super Nintendo World: Enter a vibrant universe where video games come to life.
  • How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk: Soar alongside dragons in a land where Vikings and creatures coexist.
  • The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic: Step into the Fantastic Beasts movies and Wizarding World Paris and travel the Flu Network to the British Ministry.
  • Dark Universe: Encounter the mysteries and monsters of a horror-inspired realm unlike anything Universal has created before.

Rides in Celestial Park:

Constellation Carousel. A reimagined take on the classic carousel, this enchanting ride features creatures that rotate and spin 360 degrees. As guests ride, a whirling cosmic dance takes place, making it one of the most visually stunning carousels ever built.

Stardust Racers. The most thrilling ride at Epic Universe is a dual-launch racing coaster designed to mimic comets racing through the heavens. The train’s night-time illuminations transform into a dazzling streak of light.
