While Orlando has recently gotten a version of the Hogwarts Express from the Harry Potter films, the Warner Brothers Studio Tour London has announced that they will be taking guests on a ride of their own. The Studio Tour, which has famously recreated many of the Harry Potter films using actual props and sets, is bringing the Hogwarts Express to life with the actual train used in the Harry Potter films. It’s just one more way that guests can relive the magic of the Harry Potter books and films.
This March, the Studio Tour will be recreating Platform 9 3/4 with a 20,000 foot expansion. Guests will be able to see the train, get photo ops and step onto the magical set, as seen in the film. The set will be built by the original designers, builders, set dressers and special effects team that built the sets for the film.
Here’s a little bit more of what guests can expect from the all new permanent display:
- Pose with a luggage trolley on Platform 9 ¾ as it disappears through the station’s yellow brick wall and walk along the Hogwarts Express’ adjoining carriage
- Explore the interior carriage set that was used during filming (complete with ‘windows’ that demonstrate the process used to create iconic train scenes from the films such as the escape of Harry’s first Chocolate Frog and the Dementor attack)
- See a selection of prop luggage and find out which character owned which items by turning an interactive dial (characters include Hermione Granger, Draco Malfoy, Luna Lovegood and more)
- Browse a wide range of goodies inspired by the Harry Potter films and, specifically, the Hogwarts Express in a train-themed souvenir shop which will be open on the platform
In 2014, Universal Orlando opened the Wizarding World of Harry Potter:Diagon Alley which is linked together with Hogsmeade at Islands of Adventure by The Hogwarts Express. Guests can climb on board a replica and walk through a set inspired by the film.

The guests at the Studio Tour will be on the ACTUAL train used in the film, and while it will not take you to Hogsmeade Village, it will still give you a magical ride. The new expansion opens March 19th at the Warner Brothers London Tour in the UK.
