We’ve recently had the amazing privilege of touring the site of the huge new Great Wolf Lodge resort being build in Garden Grove, CA – less than a mile from Disneyland. For those unfamiliar with Great Wolf Lodge, the company is a chain of family-oriented Hotel/Water Park resorts that are in many ways stand alone vacation destinations in themselves offering full dinning, shopping, entertainment, as well as bowling, mini-golf, and so much more. It’s very exciting to see the massive development take place as it’s the first and only stand-alone resort in the area that is not owned or operated by Disney.
As soon as guests enter the resort, they’re greeted with one of the largest and most impressive lobbies in Great Wolf Lodge chain. This scale is evident throughout the whole property as the nearly every feature has been plussed, grown and scaled up to accommodate the large droves of SoCal tourists and locals alike who plan that stay at the hotel.
The water-park itself also promises to be the largest in the chain and is a massive construction undertaking in itself. Over 110,000 sq ft. of indoor water park. A wave pool, surf pool, numerous indoor/outdoor pools, a lazy river and over 14 individual water slides promise to satisfy every member of the family.
An unique and iconic to Great Wolf Lodge as the Water Park also is the Main Street. This will be located underneith the floor of the lobby in a massive basement space. It promises to be the largest Main Street in the chain of Great Wolf Lodge resorts. From Mini-Golf, to indoor bowling, the MagiQuest experience as well as tons of shopping and dining, and a full arcade pavilion. Magi Quest is popular at Great Wolf Lodge as you can find kids roaming the halls and packing the elevators like crazy during Magi Quest hours with interactive wands. This space promises to be the center of the action for most of your Great Wolf Lodge stay. Think of coolest mall in the world, that basically sums up what a Great Wolf Lodge Main Street is.
The Hungry As a Wolf Pizza location, which is traditionally a quick service window will be a full service dining location for the first time at this location.
The resort will offer the same rooms found traditionally at other Great Wolf Resorts with improvements made as well a brand new Wolf Den experience.
