In its 11th year, Universal Studios Hollywood is home to the ‘Day of Giving’, a large-scaled event in which six non-profit organizations as well as hundreds of volunteers gather at the main gate of the park and offer books, clothing and much more to kids in need from the LA Unified School District. But it wouldn’t be a Universal event if there wasn’t a bit of Minion mischief!
That’s right! The adorable Minions from the popular attraction ‘Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem’ also played a big part of the event giving a helping hand when needed. The event offered over 250 students in need new shoes, clothing, books, school supplies as well as a day of fun in the park and complimentary lunch.
The inspirational “Day of Giving” event is Universal Studios Hollywood’s yearly tradition designed to connect employees with diverse community organizations, many of which are beneficiaries of the company’s philanthropic foundation, Discover A Star, whose mission is to empower individuals and families to lead more productive and fulfilling lives. The event continues to be a huge success not only in the lives of the students but on the impact that it has on the community. We cannot applaud the team at Universal Studios Hollywood enough for putting on this wonderful event and look forward to its impact on students life for years to come.
