Sea World seems to be constantly in the news these days. From the tons of animal rescues they do, to the animals they nurse back to health and return to the wild (3 last week). Yet fanatic groups like PETA continue to call into question what they stand for. Here is another example of Sea World in the news for good. Does it matter if they make money off of animals? I don’t think so, I seem to think that they do a bit of the greater good. But enough of my thoughts.
From Sea World:
SEAWORLD PLEDGES ASSISTANCE TO ANIMALS AFFECTED
BY THE GULF OIL SPILL
SeaWorld Parks & Entertainment – including the SeaWorld parks in Orlando, San Antonio and San Diego — today pledged their expertise, facilities, manpower and resources to aid animals affected by the devastating oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
SeaWorld’s animal rescue teams have particular expertise with the care and treatment of oiled animals. All three SeaWorld parks rescue and rehabilitate hundreds of ill, orphaned and injured marine animals each year; more than 1,000 in just the first four months of 2010.
