The Guardians of the Galaxy are going to kick your face in when the all new film hits theaters this August. That’s a promise. So far we’ve seen a huge teaser trailer for the new film, and on Monday May 19th, we’re going to see a full blown trailer, as well as a chance to chat with the cast of the all new James Gunn film. While they may seem like a bunch of a-holes, it’s hinted that the Marvel super hero team will play a large part in the upcoming Avengers:Age of Ultron, as well as be a player in Phase Two of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Like many of Marvel’s comic book characters, the Guardians of the Galaxy have seen a big mix up over the past few years. The Guardians are a rag tag team of essentially space criminals who band together to do something good. The teaser trailer hints that, all but Peter Quill, are pretty much people you don’t want to mess with, let alone want to trust with something as important as guarding the galaxy.
The film is a bit of a departure for Marvel, who has relied heavily on it’s big roster of characters like Iron Man and Thor. Guardians are a bit unknown, and not necessarily household names…yet. That never really has stopped Marvel, who took Thor from Asgard and the Rainbow Road and turned him into one of the biggest box office successes to date.
While we’ve only seen a glimpse of the Guardians in action, there will be a huge premiere of the all new trailer tomorrow, Monday May 19th. The trailer will also be accompanied by a live Facebook Chat with stars Chris Pratt, Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, and Director James Gunn. The film also stars Zoe Saldana, Lee Pace, Djimon Hounsou, Benicio del Toro, John C. Reilly, Glenn Close, Gregg Henry, Bradley Cooper, Michael Rooker and Vin Diesel. You won’t recognize most of those actors in their roles, as they all play a different type of alien…something. Bradley Cooper and Vin Diesel being the most unrecognizable as a raccoon and a tree. No, this isn’t your typical Disney movie where everyone is friends. The raccoon is a weapons expert and the tree is alive, walks, fights and says only one thing.
Check out the latest teaser for the big trailer tomorrow!
Of course if the film is huge, expect to see something at Disneyland before the next in the series is released. Iron Man, Thor and Captain America all had new attractions opened right before their sequels opened. Could we possibly see a Groot and Rockit Raccoon meet and greet?
