Falcon’s Fury at Busch Gardens Tampa has been seeing it’s shares of ups and downs, but not in the way that the park had hoped for. The long delayed drop tower, which will be the tallest free standing drop tower in the world, is getting ready to open after being delayed most of the summer. The all new drop tower will also have the distinction of being the only drop tower in the world to take riders up, and then turn them face down before making the plunge back down. Recently employees were spotted testing the all new tower, which means that an opening is right around the corner.
Employees were seen testing the all new Falcon’s Fury at Busch Gardens Tampa over the past few days. The tower was originally to open in May, but technical issues, and construction delays has pushed the opening back until “late summer”. With employee testing, it seems that the tower is ready to open any day now.
Busch Gardens themselves even teased that the ride was ready to open via their Official Facebook page:
Our employees are enjoying test rides on Falcon’s Fury… The question is, are YOU ready to ride? #falconsfury
There is no official word on when we might see the tower open, but with employees riding Wednesday and Thursday, it’s entirely possible that we could see a soft opening as early as Friday, or possibly Saturday.

While we do not have a solid opening date, the park has committed to having Falcon’s Fury open for Howl O Scream. The separate ticket event kicks off on September 26th.
