First look at “Story of Beauty and the Beast” coming to Tokyo Disneyland

Tokyo Disneyland has given a first look at the all new Beauty and The Beast attraction that is coming to the park in 2020. The new ride now has a name, and some amazing animatronics that will take guests into a ride based on the story for the first time ever.

The name of the attraction is “Story of Beauty and The Beast” and looks amazing.

Check out the video below:

The ride takes guests into the story from the film and puts them face to face with characters like Belle, Lumiere, and The Beast.

The animatronics are being designed with help from Walt Disney Animation animators, some of which that worked on the original 1991 film. The figures will move, Sing and dance just like they did on the film.

The video also shows the new ride vehicles, which are trackless and shaped like tea cups. You’ll jump in and be whisked away, through Story of Beauty and The Beast. One of the movies most iconic scenes, the dinner scene, guests will actually dance around the dining room as the characters sing and dance to “Be Our Guest”.

The new ride is the centerpiece of the new area of Fantasyland coming to the park, and will open in 2020 at Tokyo Disneyland.

The new ride isnt the only new attraction coming to the area. Village Shoppes and La Taverne de Gaston will round out the Beauty and The Beast area with food and shopping. The Beasts Castle will tower 98 feet over the rest of the area.

Also opening in the new area, is the 1,500 seat Fantasyland Forest Theatre. It will feature signature Disney entertainment in a dedicated indoor performance space, so we’re sure to see some fairytale productions happening.

Minnie’s Style Studio will be located in Toon Town and will be the first place where you can meet and greet with Minnie, and share in her signature fashionable creations.

The Happy Ride with Baymax attraction will celebrate the “Big Hero 6” fan-favorite, as guests join their own personal healthcare companion for an exciting musical whip ride set to swing them round and round. Also coming to Fantasyland is a new shop themed to outer space. The Big Pop will offer popcorn in multiple flavors, along with Tokyo Disneyland’s popular popcorn buckets.
