Star Wars Celebration is heading to Chicago this year, and while there has not been any word on a title, or a trailer for the new Star Wars film, we have a feeling that we’re going to get both during the newly announced, Star Wars: Episode IX Panel.
The panel will feature Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy and Star Wars: Episode IX director J.J. Abrams, both on stage on Friday April 12th. The panel is likely to feature all kinds of information, including the title of the film, and likely the first real footage of the film.
This is the panel you’ve been waiting for! Don’t miss the Star Wars: Episode IX panel with director @jjabrams at #StarWarsCelebration Chicago! Want Friday tickets? This next episode of Star Wars has been confirmed to be the final piece in the Skywalker Saga, which hopefully means that future films will move on from any known characters, and go onto new stories, hopefully involving Jedi and Sith, and different heroes and villains.
While we’re on the subject of future Star Wars movies, it’s likely that at some point during the weekend we will hear some news on one of the many new trilogies that are in the works from several different writers and directions, including Last Jedi director Rian Johnson, and Game of Thrones show runners. We should also see the first bit of footage of the upcoming live action Star Wars TV Show, heading to Disney+, The Mandalorian. The new show will air exclusively on Disney’s streaming service, which will debut later this year.
