Stanley Kubrick’s horror adaptation of the Stephen King Masterpiece, The Shining is one of those movies that gets under your skin. It builds up such tension and an amazing story, that when things start going bad, the whole world just seems to be falling apart at the seams.
Now that terror will be coming to Halloween Horror Nights 27 at Universal Studios Florida, and at Halloween Horror Nights Hollywood this fall.
The maze will take guests into several iconic moments of the film, including right into the heart of Room 237. If you’ve seen the film, you know that’s not a place you ever want to find yourself. With any luck we will also get the iconic elevator scene, the little girls, and the guy in the Dog costume. What is your favorite scene from The Shining?
For me, personally this is amazing. Stephen King’s The Shining is my favorite of all his books, and is celebrating the 40th anniversary of the first publishing. Now, the maze will be adapted from the Warner Brothers movie, which is amazing, albeit not very faithful to the book. The two can exist together.
With both parks getting The Shining, it’s always interesting to see the take that each park has on a property.
Warner Brothers will release a prequel to The Shining called The Overlook Hotel in a few years, so you can bet this won’t be the last we’ll see of this evil effing place at HHN.
The Shining joins American Horror Story in this year’s line up so far. Who knows what other terror waits around the corner? We have until September to find out!
