Hey there, hi there, ho there! Disney news tends to creep up on you, just like Disney magic. When you’re not expecting a lot, you are suddenly surrounded by it. This week, Disney announces more improvements for FastPass+, Star Wars details, and some Frozen fun. Plus we take a look around The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster, which is just teasing everyone at this point.
Frozen has become a phenomenon in the past few months, and it’s not one that will likely melt when summer rolls around either. Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom just unveiled the all new Frozen meet and greet at Princess Fairy Tale Hall. Elsa and Anna joins Cinderella, and her band of visiting princesses to greet the little princes and princesses who come to visit.
Meanwhile, the all new Seven Dwarfs Mine Train coaster was JUST filming a commercial earlier this week, and it looked as if the ride would start soft opening…but the walls went back up, and we are left with just a tease of the sign. Will this coaster ever open? Apparently there are tons of bugs still to work out, but there is something happening next week, as select media will be doing something on or with it… who knows at this point.
One more tidbit about the all new coaster, Disney Parks Blog gave us a sneak peek at what the queue looks like, complete with interactive games.
Get a look at the cool new Ratatouille Adventure at Disneyland Paris, in this behind the scenes look. The ride looks completely immersive, as Remy will prepare a meal for guests as they travel through the world of a rat.
May will see several new merchandise events coming to Walt Disney World, with a huge new focus on new bags and purses from Harvey. The event will encompass several days, and will give guests a sneak peek at new merchandise. There’s tons of other huge merchandise events going on in May as well, see the full list by clicking here!
Disney Animation Studios has released a teaser for their next animated short, Feast. The story will tell the story of one man’s love life as they share meals…this short will premiere in November in front of Big Hero 6, the new Marvel animated film.
Star Wars Weekends has just announced their full line up (click here) and Disney is getting into the swing of things with a huge new dining experience. Guests can still book their “Feel the Force Dining Experience” which will allow you to dine with Star Wars Characters. More details have also been announced, such as new VIP spots for fireworks and parades. Click here for more info.
Speaking of Star Wars, Alan Horn from Disney announced that casting on Episode 7 is almost complete. Filming has begun in Abu Dhabi and they will be making some big announcements very soon. My guess is right during Star Wars Weekends! Click here for full story!
Finally, Disney has announced that beginning Monday guests will be able to gain more FastPass reservations using My Magic Plus. After guests have used their first three FastPass+ selections, they will be able to select another one at one of the kiosks located in each of our WDW parks. When they’ve used that one, they’ll be able to select another, and so on. Guests will also be able to select and use their additional FastPass+ entitlements when they hop from park to park…so while the system isn’t complete, at least it is getting better. Good news!
That wraps it up for this week’s Disney News Round Up…See ya Real Soon!
