It was announced earlier this week that Universal Orlando would be unveiling one final scare zone for the last weekend of Horror Nights. It would be a sneak peek into what could be happening next year, and you could help decide what goes into it. With that the last weekend has begun, and slowly we get to see what the last scare zone holds for us.

This pic comes from one of our friends, Jenn Chalue and company over at Horror Night Nightmares and it confirms what the whispers have been saying, what the murmurs have been dreading....Jack...will be back. According to Jenn, the zone is crawling with Jack, the Caretaker, Cindy, Darkness and a BodyCollector....this is leading me to believe what I've been hearing...
Now if you listen back to all the conference calls, especially the one with TJ Mannarino, you'll hear him saying that 20 will be like a scrapbook...and who's looking down over all the fesitvities? Why the icon that started it all...the wicked old clown himself.
Now that HHN is all but over, and we definately won't have a chance to go back, I am going to share some of my speculations..and they are purely that..speculation for what is to come next year.
Theme
Lets do it simple "Thanks for the memories" or "Twenty years of Terror". I can see them going with something simplistic...it says it all doesn't it? We have had 20 years of terror, and a "scrapbook" of memories going through the years. Since this has been one twisted family, lets get the whole crew involved, from Jack to Storyteller, Caretaker, Director, Mary, Julian, and yes even Eddie and Cindy. Why not bring back all of the greatest hits of each and every year, and do it up right? And we're not talking about just one house, oh no, let's do it all the right way.
Houses
When I asked TJ which house and event was his favorite, he responded "that's like asking which kid is your favorite...you like them all and had a hand in their creation." So, right, how do you choose? You dont. You take a scene from each year's house and you put it in. You take the poolroom from The Thing, The doll scene from Dead Silence, the room with all the bodies in it from Freddy and so on and you make that your "Carnival of Carnage" house. You do the same with the other seven houses, and it's going to be tough to decide which of the years get made into houses...with the rest you'll have...
Scare Zones
Of course this is a much easier way to go, you just have the characters from each event in some of the greatest scenes of the year...but do you go with just houses in the scare zones or the best of the scare zones in the scare zones? Thats a tough call, but since a lot of the scare zones were just shortened versions of the houses...pretty easy to see whats going to happen there.
Shows
Bill and Ted will be Bill and Ted...and it will be what it will be. I loved it the past four years I've seen it...some more than others...but this year more than most. So what about the other shows? Of course you have to have a big huge opening statement with the brand spanking new stage. So why not bring a "Carnival of Carnage"/"Arrival" type show back again? It's about time again, right? Sure it is.
What I have to say next, it's a bit of a shot in the dark...but I think the guys would be up for it. What about Midnight Syndicate? They are after all the soundtrack (unofficially) of HHN, and they used to do a live show...why not bring them to FL for a series of live shows? They could do it, and hell they're probably chomping at the bit to do it. I know Ed and Gavin pretty personally....well I've interviewed the past three of four years....and I think they would love to do something like that...hell, I'll even make it a prediction...I say for the 20th anniversary of HHN we will see a live MS show. (tee hee).
What do you think? I think next year is going to be epic. This year was okay...but it was all a "three year story arc leading to 20". We'll see come the middle of next year.
